Who we are
Laurie Finance is a trading style of Ledgerly Technology Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17274983). Our registered office is at 100 Shortheath Road, Swadlincote, DE12 6AL.
Ledgerly Technology Ltd is the controller of your personal data, which means we decide how it’s used and we’re responsible for looking after it.
If you have a question about your data, or want to use any of your rights, contact us or write to us at the address above.
What we collect
What you tell Laurie, our AI assistant, or us. When you ask for a rough guide or talk to us about a loan, we collect:
- your name, mobile number and email address
- details of the property: where it is, what type it is, its value, the purchase price and whether there’s already a mortgage or loan on it
- what the loan is for, how much you want to borrow, for how long, and how you plan to repay it
- details about the borrower, such as whether it’s you or a company, your property experience and your credit history, if you choose to tell us
- anything else you write in the chat, on WhatsApp, by email or on the phone
If you join the early access list, your email address and the products you’re interested in.
If we introduce you to a partner, for example because your loan would be secured on a home you live in, or isn’t secured on property, we record that you asked us to, and the details you gave us for the introduction.
Credit searches. We never run a credit search to give you a rough guide. Later on, and only with your permission, we run a soft credit search through a credit reference agency. A soft search doesn’t affect your credit score and other lenders can’t see it.
Technical data. Our servers record your IP address for a short time, to stop people sending us spam. We count visits to this website with Fathom Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t collect personal data. See our cookie policy.
How we use it, and why we’re allowed to

| Introduce you to a partner for a loan we can’t arrange | You’ve given us your permission |
| Tell you when Laurie Finance launches, if you joined the early access list | You’ve given us your permission |
| Keep records of the work we do and the loans we arrange, and deal with complaints | Our legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in being able to show what we did |
| Prevent spam, fraud and money laundering | Our legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in protecting our service |
| Improve our website and service | Our legitimate interest in running a better service, using data that doesn’t identify you where we can |
We don’t sell your data, and we won’t send you marketing unless you’ve asked for it. You can withdraw your permission for anything above that relies on it at any time.
Laurie, our AI assistant
Laurie asks you questions and works out a rough guide from your answers using our own rates. It doesn’t make decisions about you: a person, your broker, reviews every case before it goes to a lender, and lenders make all lending decisions.
If we start using a third-party AI service to help Laurie, we’ll update this page to say who it is and what data it sees before we do.
Who we share it with
Lenders. When your case is ready and you’re happy to go ahead, we send it to the lenders that could fit. We only share what they need to consider your loan. Once a lender has your details, it uses them under its own privacy policy, and may share them with valuers, solicitors and credit reference agencies.
Partners. If you ask us to introduce you to a partner, such as an FCA-authorised broker for a loan on a home you live in, we share the details you gave us for that, and tell you who the partner is first.
Credit reference agencies, if you’ve given us permission for a soft search.
Our service providers, who handle data for us under contract and only on our instructions:
- our hosting and cloud storage providers, which run this website and store your enquiry
- Slack, which we use to tell the team about new enquiries
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you message us on WhatsApp
- our email and phone providers
Others when we have to, for example the police, a regulator or a court, or the buyer of our business if it’s sold.
Where it’s stored
We store your data in the UK or the European Economic Area where we can. Some of our providers, such as Slack and Meta, may process data in the United States. When they do, we rely on the UK–US data bridge or the ICO’s standard contract clauses to keep it protected.
How long we keep it
We only keep your data for as long as we need it:
- Enquiries that don’t go ahead: long enough to pick things up again if you come back to us, then we delete them
- Loans we arrange: for as long as the law and our regulators require us to keep records
- Early access list: until we’ve told you we’ve launched, or until you ask to come off it
- IP addresses for spam checks: a few minutes
Your rights
You have the right to:
- get a copy of the data we hold about you
- have it corrected if it’s wrong
- have it deleted, if we don’t need to keep it any more
- object to us using it, or ask us to restrict how we use it
- have it sent to you, or someone else, in a common format
- withdraw your permission at any time, where we rely on it
To use any of these, contact us. It’s free, and we’ll reply within a month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve used your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll tell you before it happens.
